MEISTERKREIS & Comité Colbert

June 26/27, 2013, Berlin. 50 years of Élysée Treaty – 50 years of German-French friendship. The Meisterkreis invited the members of the Comité Colbert to Berlin for a common conference to celebrate the occasion. Seventy managers met on the 26th of June for dinner with French Ambassador Maurice Gourdault-Montagne. Guest speaker was Ursula von der Leyen, Federal Minister of Labour and Social Affairs. Michael Georg Link, First Deputy Foreign Minister and Commissioner for Franco-German co-operation, opened the Round Table talks on June 27th. Common working groups followed which discussed future challenges of the sector, resulting in the presentation of five common concrete initiatives. The German-French delegation of managers was subsequently invited to lunch by Norbert Lammert, President of the German Bundestag, in the Reichstag, followed by a conversation with Federal Minister Ronald Pofalla in the Bundeskanzleramt. “It was a very cordial and open atmosphere with many inspiring conversations. The Meisterkreis and the Comité Colbert will create formats to implement the initiatives presented by the working groups. The members of the Meisterkreis will then accept the invitation from the Comité Colbert and travel to Paris on the 10th of October in order to further develop this exchange.
