"Asia" Work Group takes on Major Task

The “Asia” work group has set itself the task of promoting Asian culture and its values. This also includes exchanging experiences, creating synergies as well as brand- and distribution-building and -development activities. But the work group is also available to MEISTERKREIS members for questions concerning the Asian luxury goods market and can provide valuable advice, for instance on legal issues, marketing and operatives. A compendium detailing the basics of doing business in Asia is also planned.

The following cooperation sessions have already taken place or been fixed: Montblanc and Bechstein in Ginza (Tokyo, April 2012), Excelsior Hotel Ernst and Leica (Cologne, September 2012) as well as Leica and Bechstein (Halle des Volkes, October 2012).

Moreover, wealthy Chinese guests will have an opportunity to view some of our members’ manufacturing sites as well as selected industrial and cultural organisations. The guided tours are designed to let the Chinese guests get a real feel for the unique craftsmanship, engineering skill and quality of German luxury products. Participating companies include Bechstein, Comtesse, Excelsior Hotel Ernst, Leica, Meissen and Roland Berger Strategy Consultants.

In addition, the MEISTERKREIS is now working with the China Luxury Industry Association (CLIA). Among other things, the association organises events in China.
